After additional allergy testing on Will, we got a little good news! He is only allergic to peanuts, no tree nuts. He was tested for walnuts, almonds, pecans, hazelnuts and pistashios and all were negative.
I'm a little concerned about the cross contamination in products that are manufactured with peanuts in some way but the allergy seems much more reasonable to work around considering he is ok to eat almond butter, baked goods with walnuts, etc. 
He is obviously not lacking in the food department! :)
