2012 recap

 Before we can move on to a new year, we will recap 2012.  It was an amazing year for all of us.  

January started with playing in the snow.  I think we only made it sledding one time last year because we barely got any snow all winter. The boys loved what little snow there was though. 

 We also made the trek up to Minneapolis to visit Luke's family and celebrate Christmas with his Dad. 

 February brought surgery for Will's tubes (which were life changing for him), he did amazing.  Mommy had a rough time! 

 and lots of indoor playing...this is what you get when you send a 3 year old and an 18 month old to the basement to play alone! 

 March brought amazing weather and we soaked it up with many picnic lunches outdoors! 

 In April I discovered I truly do have two "boys".  Their love of animals and insects and all that's gross began and never ended all summer long.  Here is Dylan with his "pet" frog.  I had to convince him the frog would be lonely without his mommy and daddy if he didn't leave him outside at night, otherwise he was sleeping in Dylan's room with him! :)

 By May, Will's obsession with everything tractors began.  That is unless it was Grandpa's tractors or on his farm.  He eventually warmed up to Grandpa's tractors though and by the end of the year would climb in them and honk the horn. 

 We also headed down to St. Louis for my cousin's wedding.  We had a great time until the boys asked to go home to bed at 7:45 (yep...they are my kids!), so we only made it to dinner, no dancing.  We have another night wedding this summer, I'm hoping they rally a bit longer! 

 In June we planted our first garden.  The boys loved helping me water the garden and pick tomatoes.

 We also celebrated Daddy's birthday in June

 By July I was still pregnant, much to my surprise. (this was 40 weeks)

 July 10 Lauren Mary surprised us arriving 6 hours before her scheduled induction (at 41 weeks)

 she was huge (9 lbs, 2 oz), came fast and furious (33 minutes) but was the perfect addition to our family! 

 August was full of visitors, celebrations (Will's 2nd birthday and Lauren's baptism) and lots of love and family.  Grandma and Grandpa Becquer came up to visit from Florida.

 Cannon flew in from Washington DC and the whole Iowa crew as well!  It was awesome to have everyone here to celebrate our little princess. 

 September we headed back to Minneapolis for Grandma Kim's birthday 

 and to meet their newest cousin Cayman.  Lauren is a month younger but like I said...she's huge! 

September also brought the surprise of welcoming Liam, he wasn't supposed to be born until October but decided to come a little early.  Lauren and I made a quick trip to Des Moines to introduce ourselves. He was perfect, spent 6 weeks in the NICU but is now doing amazing! 

October was full of lots of LOVE for Lauren from her brothers and 

 lots of Halloween activities.  The boys both insisted on being tractors this year. 

 Dylan's preschool also had a cute Halloween parade followed by a couple songs. 

 In November we all headed back to Iowa for Liam's baptism and to celebrate Dylan's birthday. 

 Then we took a 2 week vacation to Florida to visit Grandma Kim and Grandpa Jose. We celebrated Christmas with all the Korbmachers and Becquers, 

 spent a lot of time swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's pool and took numerous trips to the beach.  Here is Lauren's first time in the sand. 

 December brought on everything Christmas.  The kids were the perfect age this year and loved every aspect of it from picking out the tree, decorating it, reading lots of Christmas books, crafts...everything!

 We also spent a lot of time in December (and every month) with our friends here in Geneva.  We've seriously made the nicest, most generous friends here that are so helpful with everything.  I know I could call each and every one of the mama's at any time and they would drop everything to watch my kids, bring me a meal or any request I needed.  They are the best, and the kids really truly all get along!  Perfect!!

 Of course we can't forget about Christmas in Iowa with our favorite "Dolan" cousins...even though none of them are Dolan's are they?  Come on Cannon, add to this group soon! :)

 And our first Christmas home as a family of five.
