To wrap up our Florida trip, here is part 2. Lots of relaxation on vacation in between swimming, beach time and warm walks.
We not only celebrated Dylan's birthday, but Gina's birthday as well.
kids ready to eat!
Thanksgiving morning always starts with the Turkey Trot. We designed special t-shirts this year in honor of Jose. I had multiple people yell, "Jose!" as I was running my race and we had many people from his running club notice the shirts as well. It was difficult running this year, because we always ran it together (with the exception of last year) and then we turned the last corner of the race and ran right by the hospital. He is definitely missed!
The kids always run the 100 yard dash as well. Next year I may train Dylan a little and put him in the 1 mile. He wanted to run farther this year.
READY
GO!
a little blurry but it's Dylan
and Will - he looks happy! :)
the kids and their medals. Lauren didn't run this year, there were too many kids...pretty sure she would have gotten trampled. Keeley also skipped out because she was cold. It was about 47 degrees at the start...cold for Florida!
Jacob ran the mile this year, he did great!
and then the feast with co-chefs Kim and Luke
Lauren was not herself Thanksgiving evening. She ate nothing for dinner and then fell asleep on Dan. Anyone who knows Lauren knows that is not normal but he was soaking up the cuddles :)
I took her to urgent care the next morning (she was the 4th one to go throughout the week) but nothing wrong, must have just been a little bug.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The meal was great, family time was amazing but it was bittersweet without Jose. He was definitely there in spirit.
